"The Death Panel: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness edited by Cheryl Mullenax (Comet Press) has thirteen new, hardboiled, dark, sometimes grotesque crime stories, many of them horror.  The best are by Tim Curran, Kelly M. Hudson, David Tallerman, John Everson, and Tom Piccirilli."

"I was searching the horror section on Amazon and found this book. I bought it and I wasn't disappointed at all! The villians in the book (The Weeping Lady, The Mad Gasser, Spring-Heeled Jack, The Bone Sniffer and the Black-Eyed Children) are no joke! They are evil and take no prisoners! This book is a hidden gem and it's a true horror story! I highly recommend it! I was searching the horror section on Amazon and found this book. I bought it and I wasn't disappointed at all! "Rich storytelling in a turned upside down zombie epidemic...

"I really thought this zombie novel was a wonderful journey through the everyman hero having to turn from his self imposed isolated existence into a survivor in a world with nothing but Zombies ,and even worse, humankind turning to animals the longer the outbreak goes on. I felt that Jeff really grew throughout the story and found something to live for that he could be proud of. Great Storytelling and some wonderful passages especially towards the end of the book.
"Great Job!"

"One of the most imaginative of the stories is Kelly M. Hudson’s What Makes An Angel Cry, which creates a world where angels run Queens and Satan runs Brooklyn and the two sides are always fighting like rival gangs while humans try to steer clear. I really enjoyed this one, just for the sheer whimsy and creativity of the author, but there is also plenty of bloody fighting in it for the gorehounds out there. Hudson really develops the main character, a human named Billy who runs a bar, and the story has a gruff, New Yorker feel to it that just rang true."

"I'd have to say my absolute favorite of the anthology was, the very first story, The Cemetery Job by Kelly M. Hudson. Great job, Mr Hudson! He provided, in the ABOUT THE WRITERS SECTION, some links to read more of his stories. Already visited those lings and added those stories to my computer favorites for future consumption. I guess the reason I really like this story so well is the fact that it's a kind of heist story. Not just any heist story either: A heist at a funeral home and right in the middle of....well, I'll let you read it to find out what happens. Nice little cast of 5 main characters and a cool finale."

"I just finished your story 'The Candle,' and I wanted you to know that I liked it very much.  It creeped me out and it kept me reading, which is all anyone can ask of a horror story.  And I hope you also have a fabulous day."
